1982 Studio Cast recording of Rodgers and Hart’s infamous cut score from the 1934 MGM movie with Barbara Rosenblatt, Pat Whitmore, Robert Daws, Richard Quin. First time on CD. Rodgers and Hart wrote 20 songs for this movie flop with 17 of them being discarded. This album rescues 12 and allows us to hear for the first time what we’ve been missing; the love songs ‘You Are’ and ‘Keep Away from The Moonlight’, the mild send-up of Diedrich ‘I’m One Of The Boys’, another Hart ode to the dark side of love ‘My Friend The Night’, and ‘Prayer’ which was later recycled with a different lyric as ‘Blue Moon’.

Includes rare bonus tracks from other Rodgers and Hart shows, NANA, AMERICA’S SWEETHEART, HELEN OF TROY and LIDO LADY.
